3-D Revolution will host its first Turkey Trot 5k and 1-mile race in Downtown Jasper on Thursday, November 23, 2023.
Registration will begin at 7 a.m. in front of the Walker County Courthouse (219 19th Street West, Jasper, AL), with the race following at 8 a.m. The 5k and 1-mile races will begin at the same place and split onto their respective paths.
3-D Revolution is a new drug and alcohol rehab home for women in Walker County, operated by board members Wynelle Milstead, Amber Sellers, Erin Johnson, Curtis Hammonds, Pat Hammonds, Misty Palmer, Stephanie Duggar, Kathy Bradford, and Linda Burns. The program’s facility is a home owned by Milstead, who, through a conversation with Sellers, was inspired to begin praying about starting this outreach.
“I’ve been involved with Hope for Women for a long time, and I see women who have no hope when they first get there. Then, by the time they leave, they have hope. They have a chance and know they don’t have to return to that life. They know there is a different world, and that’s the reason behind 3-D Revolution: to show them a better life,” Milstead says.
All proceeds from the event will go towards 3-D Revolution. The Turkey Trot is not necessarily a run; walk, run, or trot! Pets are allowed to race if they are leashed. There will also be a costume contest, with first-, second-, and third-place prizes for the costume contest and both races.
