In a highly anticipated 4A Region 5 showdown, the Dora Bulldogs clashed with the Cordova Blue Devils in the “Over the River Rivalry” this past Friday at Horace Roberts Field in Dora. The Bulldogs emerged triumphant with an impressive 40-7 victory, the game marking the 100th encounter between the two schools.

Dora freshman Colby Key passed for one touchdown while fellow freshman Kaleb Pryor had one rushing touchdown for the Bulldogs. Senior Kesean Pryor and junior Jayden Griffin posted two rushing touchdowns apiece. Griffin led the Bulldogs with 132 yards rushing.

On the defensive side, Braxton Kitchens led Dora with 11 tackles (5 solo, 6 assist) and had a fumble recovery. The Blue Devils, in turn, forced two consecutive Dora fumbles in the second quarter.

Though its offense sputtered for over three quarters, Cordova managed to get on the scoreboard with just 1:29 remaining in the game.

Looking ahead, Dora (4-2) faces the Hamilton Aggies on October 13 at 7 p.m. in another regional matchup. Meanwhile, Cordova (1-5) will host Northside in their next regional competition at Hudson-Kirby Stadium in Cordova. WL
