The Walker County Bama Club is proud to present the 2025 Bama Scramble golf tournament in honor of William Haig Wright II. A dedicated alumnus of The University of Alabama (Class of 1982) and a pillar of the Walker County community, Haig was known for his unwavering commitment to education, service, and leadership.
The 2025 Bama Scramble will be held on Friday, May 9th at Musgrove Country Club, starting with lunch by Dreamland BBQ at 11 AM, followed by a shotgun start at noon. Entry fee: $600 per team or $150 per individual, includes a pair of mulligans. A putting contest is available for $5.

Haig Wright was a successful businessman and served as President and later CEO of Byars Wright Insurance, growing it into one of the Southeast’s leading firms. He left a lasting mark through his vision, integrity, and compassion.
His deep passion for The University of Alabama was reflected in his service to the UA National Alumni Association, including a term as National President (2019–2020). Notably, he founded the Bama Scramble Golf Tournament in 1989, which has since awarded scholarships to hundreds of Walker County students.
