Meet Ty Weldon, a senior at Sumiton Christian High School whose talents shine both on and off the field. As a two-sport athlete, Ty excels as a safety in football under coach Jarius Williams and as an outfielder in baseball for coach Ricky Bowen.

Beyond his athletic pursuits, Ty is a dedicated student, boasting a GPA of 3.1. When he’s not training or competing, he’s often found engrossed in a history book, particularly fascinated by Native American history.

“I enjoy Native American history, specifically during colonization, because I’m half Cherokee and want to know where I come from,” Ty explains.

Looking ahead to his graduation in May 2025, Ty plans to attend the University of Alabama to study kinesiology and sports medicine.

Ty is the son of Howard and Tracie Weldon.

Congratulations, Ty, on your athletic and academic achievements. We wish you the best in your future endeavors! WL
