We are thrilled to announce that the Bevill State Community College HVAC Fast Track program is officially underway! While we are delighted to have all of our amazing students for this intensive session, one of our students just completed an exceptional run with the Birmingham-Southern Panthers. Parker Hutson, a standout junior utility player for Birmingham-Southern, has been busy playing in the Division III College World Series last week. Parker, who made a significant impact on the field with a .902 fielding percentage this season, brings the same dedication and skill to our HVAC program.
The Bevill State HVAC Fast Track is an incredible opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, possess solid basic math and reading skills, and are passionate about skilled trades. In just 11 weeks, our students receive comprehensive training, gain industry-recognized certifications, and are prepared to embark on rewarding careers in HVAC. We also assist in connecting them with hiring HVAC companies and offer resume and interview training to ensure their success. (Visit www.BSCC.edu/hvac-fast-track to learn more.)
Moreover, graduates of our program have the opportunity to convert their training into degree credits if they choose to enroll in Bevill State’s HVAC program.
Parker says, ”As I finish my college degree in Finance, pursuing a skill like an HVAC certification provides me with flexibility and options in my career that I would not have otherwise. Worker shortages in the trades have resulted in good-paying jobs that can ultimately be translated into long-term entrepreneurial opportunities. I am excited to be in this program.”
Al Moore, Dean of Workforce and Economic Development stated, “We are glad to welcome Parker as one of our summer cohort HVAC Fast Track students. As a former Birmingham-Southern student, we understood Parker’s desire to gain a marketable skill during the summer, as he transitions to Samford University in the Fall, to complete an undergraduate degree in Finance. We are glad to be a part of his educational journey.”
Dr. Joel Hagood, President of Bevill State Community College, added, “At Bevill State, we are committed to providing our students with the education and training they need to succeed in their chosen fields. The HVAC Fast Track program is a prime example of how we are helping individuals gain the skills and certifications required to enter high-demand industries. We are especially proud of students like Parker, who demonstrate exceptional dedication and versatility in their pursuits. We believe that the combination of academic and practical training offered at Bevill State will open numerous doors for their future careers.”
Join us in congratulating Parker on his achievements and wishing all our HVAC Fast Track students the best of luck in their training and future careers!
