Meet Justin Hicks, a Sumiton Christian High School senior whose talents extend beyond the sports arena. Justin has been making waves as a pitcher and first baseman for coach Ricky Bowen.
Justin explains why he loves baseball so much: “I love the lessons I learn through the sport. It also helps me focus more on God because I see the abilities He has given me, and because of that, I get to play college ball. Without Him, I couldn’t have done it.”
Justin has also proven himself to be a remarkable student. When he’s not busy with his sports commitments, you might find him studying math, his favorite subject. He upholds a 3.8 GPAand is a proud SCHS Ambassador.
As he awaits his graduation in May 2024, Justin plans to work toward a coaching degree while playing baseball for The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
Justin is the son of Ron and Courtnee Hicks.
Congratulations, Justin, on your athletic and academic accomplishments. We wish you the best in your future endeavors! WL
