Council Approves October Community Events

During the Jasper City Council meeting on September 19, councilmembers gave their nod of approval to a series of events that promise to add excitement and community spirit to the upcoming month.

Oktoberfest

Kick off October with a touch of German flair at Jasper’s very own Oktoberfest, hosted by Jasper Main Street. This family-friendly celebration will be filled with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and plenty of activities for the kids.

Where: 4th Avenue, Tallulah Brewing Co.

When: October 7, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Jasper High School Homecoming Parade

Join in on the school spirit and support the Jasper Vikings at their annual Homecoming Parade. It’s a time-honored tradition that brings the community together in celebration.

Where: Following the usual route along Viking Drive/19th Street

When: October 13, 2023, starting at 1:30 p.m.

Pets on Parade

Calling all animal lovers! The Walker County Humane Society invites you to “Pets on Parade,” an event that showcases our furry friends. Bring your pets and enjoy a delightful morning at Gamble Park.

Where: Gamble Park

When: October 21, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Trunk or Treat

Round out the month with a Halloween celebration! “Trunk or Treat” at A.P. Howell Park invites you to bring your little ghouls and goblins and come out for an evening of candy, costumes, and community fun.

Where: A.P. Howell Park

When: October 31, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
