This spring, Carl Cannon Chevrolet Buick GMC debuted their new Commercial Truck Service Center.
With 26-foot ceilings, 16-foot garage doors, and a 5-ton gantry crane, the space, dedicated to service vehicles, can accommodate large diesel trucks, wreckers, medium duty service trucks, and more. The center also has lifts that hold up to 56,000 pounds, and technicians can provide complete services for any make or model service vehicle.
When asked the reason behind the new addition, Carl Cannon Executive Manager Curt Ballard said, “We had two reasons. First, we have to be able to service what we sell. The second is there’s just a need there. When a commercial truck is down for maintenance there is a business who can no longer service their customers and unfortunately, you usually can’t just rent a commercial vehicle while yours is in the shop. So we understand the importance of getting those vehicles back on the road as quickly as possible.”
Carl Cannon’s location off Interstate 22 has helped the dealership to attract and retain a large commercial customer base, and the new Commercial Service Center will help service these customers.
The dealership’s original commercial center opened in 2019 and shared space with the general maintenance department. While technicians could work on larger commercial vehicles like medium duty trucks, they didn’t consistently have sufficient space, which led to longer service times for all customers.
Now commercial drivers can get in and out quicker than ever. Not only does this help commercial customers, Ballard says, by moving commercial work to a dedicated facility, it frees up the main shop to more efficiently take care of traditional customer’s vehicles.
The new addition is also a testament to Carl Cannon’s commitment to providing quality service and support to their customers.
