Meet Alena Howse, a Curry High School senior who has made an incredible impact as a softball pitcher for coach David Lawson.
Alena has also proven herself to be a remarkable student. She upholds a 3.9 GPA, and her favorite subject is English. She is also a proud member of several extracurricular organizations, including Beta Club, Future Farmers of America, Spanish Club, and National Honor Society. Alena is also the senior class Secretary, a Peer Helper, and a Big Sister at Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
As she awaits her graduation in May 2024, Alena plans to attend Northeast Alabama Community College, where she will also play softball and major in early life and elementary education. She also plans to become a pitching coach.

When asked what it means to her to be able to play softball at the collegiate level, Alena explained, “It is a dream come true! I have worked for this since I was 14, and I am just really blessed.”
Alena is the daughter of Patrick and Cherish Howse.
