In early 2023, 27-year-old Cameron Honeycutt joined his father’s established practice, Honeycutt Chiropractic, in Jasper.
Cameron played baseball for four years during his undergraduate studies at Blue Mountain Christian University. He then attended Life University Chiropractic College in Marietta, Georgia, to follow in his father’s footsteps.
Cameron’s inclination towards the family business traces back to his early years. Fondly reminiscing about his childhood, he shares, “When I would get dropped off from elementary school, I would always go to my dad’s office at the After Hours Clinic.” The transformative experiences of witnessing patients find relief from distress and pain under his father’s care left a lasting impression on Cameron. He describes his father as a magician, consistently bringing smiles to the faces of those seeking relief.
Having invested eight years in his post-high school academic journey, Cameron acknowledges the pivotal role other individuals played in shaping his career. Foremost among these influences is his father, Gregory, to whom he attributes a significant portion of his education. He also credits the Georgia-based doctor, under whom he completed his internship and his years of extensive schooling, for teaching him to study and manage time well.
“You know, the cliche of being an athlete and undergrad student means you miss a lot of class. But, once I got into chiropractic college, that was not the case. I had to learn how to study and how to manage my time. I couldn’t go out on the weekends like I did in undergrad, so that was a big crossroads for me, learning how to manage my time wisely,” says Cameron.
Now an integral part of Honeycutt Chiropractic, Cameron is enthusiastic about introducing new services, including ultrasound, electrical stim, and muscle cupping. Recognizing the unique response of each individual’s body and muscles to chiropractic adjustment, he underscores the need for diverse methods to cater to these differences and ensure relief for every patient.
Looking ahead, Cameron expresses eagerness to enhance his involvement in local school sports, drawing on his background as an athlete. He envisions a role on the sidelines, mentoring young athletes and inspiring them to consider a future in chiropractic care. Following his athletic career, Cameron also took a strong interest in rodeo, and plans to venture into providing chiropractic care for equine and other animals in Jasper.
Additionally, Cameron is committed to addressing the prevailing opioid crisis, asserting that providing patients with relief and steering them away from pain medication aligns with his core mission.
“I love the idea of being able to help people using just my hands. I’m just looking forward to working with my dad and continuing to learn,” says Cameron, radiating enthusiasm for the impactful journey ahead. WL
