Bank of Walker County Executive Leadership Team: (L-R) Walker Wilson, President; Tony Sparks, CEO; Mark Wilson Chairman of the Board
JASPER, AL – The Board of Directors of Bank of Walker County, a subsidiary of Relations Bancshares, is proud to announce the retirement of Mark B. Wilson as Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Walker County. Mr. Wilson will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board, where he will remain an important part of the bank’s ongoing commitment to the communities it serves. The Board is also pleased to announce the promotions of H. Anthony Sparks as Chief Executive Officer and of Walker B. Wilson to President of Bank of Walker County. Their leadership reflects the bank’s deep roots in community banking and its continued dedication to building strong local relationships and serving the financial needs of Walker County families, businesses, and neighbors.
Founded in 2004, Bank of Walker County was built on a commitment to serve the people of Walker County with personal attention, trusted relationships, and a dedication to exceeding customer expectations. Over the years, that commitment has helped the bank grow to include not only the Jasper location but, as of 2022, a second location in Curry — extending its community banking mission to even more families and businesses in the area.
Mark Wilson began his banking career in 1964 alongside his father, C.B. Wilson, and has spent decades helping shape local banking through a focus on service, relationships, and trust. While much has changed in the industry over the years, Wilson says the core purpose of banking remains the same. “I’ve seen so many changes in the industry, especially in technology, which has enhanced our ability to serve customers,” said Wilson. “The basic values remain the same — taking care of the customer is the top priority.”
“I am proud to see this dedication to serving our community continue for another generation,” said Wilson. “With leadership in the hands of these qualified individuals, I am confident the bank will continue to uphold the values, relationships, and community-focused mission on which it was founded.”
For more than 20 years, Bank of Walker County has proudly served Walker County with a goal of meeting the banking needs of its customers and exceeding their highest expectations. As a bank owned by local people for local people, Bank of Walker County is rooted in the belief that local decisions, personal service, and a willingness to be flexible and innovative are essential to serving its community well. With more than 200 years of combined banking experience among its management team, the bank remains a trusted partner to the families, businesses, and communities it is honored to serve.
