Your Guide to the Jasper Public Library

Most people know that with a free library card, you can check out books at the local library. What many don’t realize is just how much more the Carl Elliott Regional Library system has to offer. 

Serving nearly 95,000 residents across Walker and Winston counties, with the Jasper Public Library as its main branch, the Carl Elliott Regional Library System provides resources and programs that extend well beyond the shelves.

Take a look at services offered at the Jasper Public Library:

Collections & Materials

  • Wide selection of books in both standard and large print
  • DVDs, board games, and newly added materials each month
  • Rare and historical resources, including WPA collections, the Arrowhead collection, and quality prints of historic photographs

Technology & Research Support

  • Public computer access, free WiFi, printing, photocopying, and private study carrels
  • A family computer room for shared use
  • Online tools such as databases, Homework Alabama, and the Libby App for e-books and audiobooks
  • Personalized support through “Email the Librarian,” research help, and proctoring services

  • StoryLab for preschoolers (ages 3–5)
  • LEGO Club and annual LEGO competition
  • 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge
  • Seasonal activities like a Halloween celebration and Christmas Breakfast with Santa
