Bevill State Community College is proud to announce the appointment of Shawn Morgan as the institution’s first Vice President of Workforce and Strategic Initiatives. This newly established role is dedicated to leading the College’s efforts in workforce development and driving strategic partnerships that address the region’s economic and educational needs.
Morgan brings 27 years of experience in the banking industry, most recently serving as Market President at Synovus in Jasper. A graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Morgan’s professional background includes extensive leadership in both the financial and nonprofit sectors. He is also the Pastor of Saragossa First Baptist Church and serves as Chairman of the Board for H.A.R.T.T. and Chair of the Walker County Advisory Board for the United Way of Central Alabama.
As Vice President of Workforce and Strategic Initiatives, Morgan will be responsible for developing innovative programs that align workforce training with local industry demands. He will work closely with business leaders, government agencies, and educational partners to expand opportunities for students and help position Bevill State as a regional leader in economic and workforce development.

Morgan and his wife Kelley, married for 29 years, live in Jasper. They are the proud parents of eight children: Tyler, Jonah, Aaron, Ethan, Eli, Tommy, Seth, and Hunter, and they are grandparents to Carson and Luke.
