Bankhead House and Heritage Center Unveils 2025 “Under the Stars” Schedule

The Bankhead House and Heritage Center is once again bringing excitement to the summer with the annual Under the Stars series. This beloved event series offers a lineup of free concerts and a special movie night, perfect for families and friends to enjoy together throughout the season.

An initiative of the Walker Area Community Foundation, the Bankhead House and Heritage Center provides year-round exhibits and seasonal activities at no cost. Generous support from local sponsors like the Walker Area Community Foundation, Jasper Main Street, Honda of Jasper, and Hyundai of Jasper ensures that this series remains a staple of summer entertainment in Walker County.

So, get your lawn chairs and blankets ready to head to the Bankhead House Amphitheater for a summer of history, community, culture, and fun!

Schedule of Events

Saturday, May 3 | 7 PM
The Negotiators will open the season with a mix of classic and modern rock, R&B, Motown, and pop. Their set includes a little something for all music fans.

Saturday, June 21 | 7 PM
Storytellers is a tribute to James Taylor and other well-known songwriters, featuring Stuart Upton, Perry Collins, Aaron Branson, Don Hecklinski, and Vic Atherton. Enjoy familiar tunes and sing along with the music that made James Taylor a favorite for generations.

Saturday, July 19 | 7 PM
8 Track Country with Matthew Devine will perform throwback hits that blend traditional country sound with a bit of nostalgia. Expect familiar favorites and a laid-back vibe.

Saturday, August 16 | 8 PM
A Night With Tallulah Bankhead offers a look back at the screen legend’s career, featuring highlights from her TV appearances, stage roles, and interviews—including moments from shows like Batman, The Lucy and Desi Comedy Hour, The Milton Berle Show, and her iconic 1953 interview with Edward R. Murrow.
