Camp COOL (Children Overcoming Obstacles through Love) will host its upcoming fundraiser, the COOL Night Gala, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Jasper Civic Center.

The event’s theme, “Together We Build,” is based on Camp COOL’s ongoing commitment to building a dedicated camp location, increasing awareness of its mission, and strengthening partnerships throughout the local community.

This special fundraiser will bring together supporters for a memorable evening featuring a catered meal by Black Rock Bistro, live and silent auctions, and performances by talented local artists including JJ Hadder, the Walker County Christian Chorus, Pat Bowden and Carol Patilla, Stuart Upton, Starla Darnell, Kacie Lakey, Grace Nelson of Agapé Ballet, and performers from Athletic Arts Center and Marilyn Sanders Performing Arts Center.

Each element of the night is designed to foster connection while raising vital funds for Camp COOL’s summer programs.

Established in 2013, Camp COOL provides a traditional summer camp experience tailored for children with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy or spina bifida. Through thoughtful accommodations, dedicated volunteers, and an environment built around inclusion, campers are given the opportunity to build confidence, form meaningful friendships, and create lasting memories.

Proceeds from the gala directly support Camp COOL’s ability to serve campers and families, while also advancing long-term goals such as dedicated camp location plans, program expansion, and accessibility improvements. These efforts ensure that every child who attends camp is met with care, dignity, and joy.

“As Camp COOL continues to grow, so does our responsibility to plan thoughtfully for the future,” says Executive Director Brittney Henson. “Events like the COOL Night Gala allow us to meet changing needs while giving our community a chance to come alongside us as we grow and help ensure every child has the support and experience that they deserve.”

Whether attending with friends, supporting through sponsorship, or participating in the auction, guests play an important role in helping Camp COOL grow its impact.

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available now. To purchase individual tickets ($55 each) or to donate to Camp COOL, visit coolnightgala2026.eventbrite.com. A meal is not guaranteed for tickets purchased after March 6, 2026.

Corporate sponsorship of the event includes entry and a meal for eight individuals, along with tiered opportunities for recognition through event marketing, materials, and presentations. Contact Al Blanton at 205-587-1170 for more details.
