The Jefferson County Mayors Association, a nonprofit organization that serves as a network for municipal mayors in Jefferson County, held its monthly meeting at Cintas in Bessemer on Wednesday, January 28. Several mayors and municipal staff members were in attendance, along with other dignitaries, political candidates, elected officials, and members of the business community.

Attendees received a tour of the facility, listened to presentations by Cintas staff, and enjoyed a catered lunch. Reports were given by Jefferson County EMA Director James Coker, Jefferson County Mayor’s Association Executive Director Jack Fields, and Gardendale Mayor Stan Hogeland, who serves as the Association’s president.

“We had a great meeting today as we started the new year in Bessemer. Cintas was our host and program provider. We appreciate their hospitality and the behind-the-scenes tour of their operation. As always, it was an enjoyable time of fellowship and networking,” said Hogeland.

Cintas, a corporation based in Mason, Ohio, that specializes in uniforms, facility services, first aid & safety, and fire protection, boasts two locations in Alabama: a Pelham office at 602 Cahaba Valley Circle and a Bessemer location at 5970 Greenwood Parkway. Divisions at the Bessemer location include Facility Services and Uniforms & Apparel, while First Aid & Safety is located at the Pelham office.

Presentations for Cintas on Wednesday were given by Eric McCalpine, Major Account Manager – Public Sector; Laura Zirfas, Production Manager; Kevin Beebout, General Manager; Bryan Wilson, Key Account Manager; and Bethany Guidry, First Aid and Safety Sales Manager.

“On behalf of Cintas, we were truly honored to host the Jefferson County Mayors Association,” said McCalpine. “Welcoming our local mayors into our space created an opportunity for meaningful conversation, relationship-building, and a shared vision for our communities. Events like this remind us that when business and local leadership come together, real progress can happen.”

The next meeting of the Jefferson County Mayors Association will be held at the Irondale Library in Irondale, Alabama. WL
