The Alabama Free Will Baptist Children’s Home is hosting its 6th annual Donut Dash 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Onsite registration opens at 7:30 a.m., with the 5K starting at 8 a.m. and the Fun Run following at 9 a.m., all at the children’s home campus at 86 Academy Drive in Eldridge.

All proceeds from the Donut Dash directly support the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home, which has provided care and stability for children since 1947. The Home operates as a private, nonprofit organization and relies on donations and community involvement to continue its mission.

This family-friendly event welcomes participants of all ages. Participants can look forward to fresh donuts at the finish line, along with awards for overall winners and the top three male and female finishers in each age division.

“Our main goal for the Donut Dash is to raise awareness for what we do and get people on our campus who might not normally be there,” says Children’s Home Executive Director Mandy Mitchell. “Even if you’re not a runner, we welcome you to attend, have a donut with us, and learn more about our ministry!”

Registration is $25 for the 5K and $15 for the Fun Run. Participants are encouraged to register by February 9 to be guaranteed a race shirt in their preferred size. Registration is available online, and printable forms may also be mailed in for those who prefer to register by mail.

Local businesses and organizations also have opportunities to support the event through sponsorships, helping ensure another successful Donut Dash while giving back to a vital community resource.

Participants should register by February 9 to guarantee a t-shirt in their preferred size.
