Faces of Walker: Macie Barrett, Bernard’s Store for Men

Meet Macie Barrett, who serves as a sales associate at Bernard’s Store for Men in downtown Jasper. Macie grew up in Jasper and started working at Bernard’s when she was 11 years old.

Although her job title is “sales associate,” she lends a hand in almost every aspect of the business at Bernard’s.

“I do a little bit of everything,” Macie says. “I help with stocking, pricing, transitioning merchandise between seasons, and taking pictures for our Facebook page.”

Outside of the office, Macie loves to travel and says the thing she likes most about living in Walker County is the small-town charm.

A verse that inspires her is Isaiah 41:10, which says, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Two people have made a big impact on her life, Macie says, and that is Rusty Richardson, and her grandmother, Glenda Odom, who works alongside her at Bernard’s.

When asked what her favorite thing is about working at the store, Macie says, “I love people. I love seeing new faces come in and helping people pick out the best outfit.” WL
