Hagood Awarded Loyalty Award at Youth Leadership Development Program Luncheon

Dr. Joel Hagood, President of Bevill State Community College, was awarded the Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Bennie G. Adkins “Loyalty Award” at the Youth Leadership Development Program (YLDP) “Lunch with Heroes” held earlier this week at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

The CSM Bennie Adkins “Loyalty Award” is presented to recognize extraordinary loyalty, dedication, and service to one who has committed their life to the advancement of others, their profession, and the Youth Leadership Development Program.

This award honors individuals who exemplify the core values of YLDP, especially the virtue of loyalty, one of the program’s foundational character traits.

CSM Bennie G. Adkins, a U.S. Army Special Forces veteran and Medal of Honor recipient, was celebrated for his extraordinary courage and lifelong dedication to service and education.

Bevill State is proud to be a sponsoring college for YLDP, a program that inspires high school juniors and seniors through the values of faith, character, and patriotism. WL
