The Walker County Arts Alliance (WCAA) is proud to announce it has received a generous grant from the Kiwanis Club of Jasper to support its in-school music education programs. This funding will help purchase musical instruments, such as rhythm sticks, for use in elementary classrooms throughout Walker County.
Led by music educator Becki Stallsmith, the WCAA’s in-school music program brings the joy and power of music directly to local students through a long-standing partnership with the Walker County Board of Education. Stallsmith visits schools across the county, engaging young learners with interactive lessons that build rhythm, listening skills, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
“We’re incredibly grateful to the Kiwanis Club of Jasper for their support,” said Kat Murray, WCAA Executive Director. “This grant allows us to refresh and expand our classroom resources by providing new instruments and materials for our students, many of whom are experiencing structured music education for the first time.”
This contribution reflects the Kiwanis Club’s commitment to serving children and fostering educational growth in the Jasper community and beyond.
