Jason Beasley Receives Outstanding Faculty Award for Bevill State – Sumiton Campus

Jason Beasley, Division Chair of the Truck Driver Training Program on the Bevill State Sumiton Campus, has been named the 2025 Outstanding Faculty Award recipient for the campus.

Jason began his journey as a professional truck driver in 1998, traveling across the U.S. and Canada. In 2016, he returned to his roots at Bevill State, where he completed his own truck driver training years earlier, to begin teaching in the same program. His passion for helping students succeed quickly became clear. In 2023, Jason was named Division Chair of the program and also serves as the Curriculum Chair for transportation.

Jason holds an Associate in Applied Science in Diesel Technology from Bevill State, a Bachelor of Science in Post-Secondary Technical Education from Athens State University, and multiple industry certifications, including licensure as a funeral director. He lives in Gardendale with his wife Michelle. They enjoy camping together, and Jason also enjoys off-roading and hunting. They are proud parents to three children: Andrew, Jacob, and Gracie.

Jason shares, “The best quote that I can think of that describes how I feel about this job is from Mark Twain: ‘Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never work a day in your life.’ I thoroughly enjoy watching people grow in confidence and ability during the 6 weeks they spend in our program.”

Congratulations to Jason Beasley on this well-deserved recognition!
