Bevill State Students Honored as Members of the 2025 All-Alabama Academic Team

Two Bevill State Community College (BSCC) students are among the 2025 All-Alabama Academic Team. Simon Smith, GPA: 3.8, Hometown: Millport, AL (BSCC Fayette Campus), and Trent Credille, GPA: 4.0, Hometown: Hamilton, AL (BSCC Hamilton Campus) were honored for this accomplishment during the Annual All-Alabama Community College Academic Team Recognition Ceremony on Friday, April 11, 2025, in Birmingham, AL.

Simon Smith is a Nursing student on the Fayette Campus of Bevill State Community College. Originally from Millport, Alabama, Simon has distinguished himself through both academic excellence and leadership. He plans to transfer to UAB to merge into the Heersink School of Medicine. His long-term goal is to complete medical school and residency in Otolaryngology, ultimately using his degree to serve patients through surgical care in a clinical setting.

Trent Credille is an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC) student on the Hamilton Campus of Bevill State Community College. A native of Hamilton, Alabama, Trent will graduate with an associate degree in HVAC and plans to transfer to the University of Alabama to pursue a bachelor’s degree in engineering. His long-term goal is to attend MIT for a master’s degree, continuing his path toward an innovative career in engineering.

Being named to the All-Alabama Academic Team is a significant honor that reflects not only their hard work in the classroom, but also their leadership and service beyond it. This recognition is well-earned and speaks to their strong character and dedication,” said Dr. Joel Hagood, President of Bevill State Community College. 

All-Alabama Academic Team members are recognized for their distinguished academic achievements and leadership accomplishments. These students understand the responsibilities of being a scholar, alongside their role in community service. All-Alabama Academic Team students are nominated by their respective colleges and must possess a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.25, be involved in campus activities, and have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours at the institution.
