Kinley Willis’s love for basketball was sparked from an early age when she watched the sport with her family. Over time, that passion grew to encompass volleyball, a sport she has come to cherish just as deeply.
Kinley’s basketball journey started eight years ago at a local park, where she developed her skills and eventually earned a spot as a shooting guard for Corner High School’s basketball team. Her athleticism shines equally on the volleyball court, where she plays the critical position of libero.
“Being a libero is all about defense. You’re pretty much just passing the ball and making plays happen,” Kinley explained. “This was my first year playing libero, and it was so much fun.”
Her talent hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Kinley earning two all-tournament team recognitions during her volleyball career.
Beyond her accomplishments in sports, Kinley is a standout in the classroom, maintaining an impressive 4.2 GPA while participating in organizations like the Student Council, National Honor Society, and Beta Club.
Looking to the future, Kinley plans to attend either Mississippi State University or the University of North Alabama. She hopes to pursue a career in occupational therapy, helping others regain independence and achieve their goals.
Kinley’s childhood love for basketball has blossomed into success across multiple sports and ignited a passion for empowering others to chase their dreams. WL
