Ignite Your Child’s Imagination at the Jasper Public Library!
The Jasper Public Library is offering a variety of exciting programs to spark your child’s creativity, boost social skills, and foster a lifelong love for reading!
Youth Services Librarian Melanie Aldeen says, “I claim all the children as my own, and I always tell them they’re as special as the Queen of England because they have a voice that needs to be heard like everyone else. These programs are special, and I encourage every parent and child to participate!”
Upcoming Programs:
Smokey Bear’s 80th Birthday Reading Challenge
Join the fun with this forestry-themed challenge! Children will read several books and meet on September 19 at 3:30 p.m. to celebrate Smokey Bear’s birthday with a scavenger hunt, treats, and prizes provided by the Alabama Forestry Commission. Don’t miss this chance for kids to learn, play, and meet Smokey himself! Call to register today!
Story Lab (Ages 3-5)
From September 13 to December 13, join the Jasper Public Library every Friday morning from 10:00–11:00 a.m. for a fun-filled storytime, craft session, and scavenger hunt. Special guests, including Representative Matt Woods, Fire Chief Dante Fields, and even Santa, will make appearances to add extra magic to each gathering!
Trick or Treat at the Library
Get ready for a spooky good time! On October 31, bring your little goblins and ghouls for a fun, safe, and festive trick-or-treat experience at the library!
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten & Beyond
Help your child develop a love for reading with this rewarding program! For children up to age 5, work together to read 1,000 books before kindergarten, with prizes awarded for every milestone. Kids who’ve already reached that goal can continue with the Thousand Books Beyond program, designed to keep the excitement going!
