Meet Gracie Slate, an exceptional Bevill State Community College sophomore whose talents extend well beyond the tennis court.

Gracie has made a significant impact as the four-seed singles and second-seed doubles player for Coach Eli Matthews.

Gracie’s academic achievements are equally impressive. She maintains an impressive 3.82 GPA, excels in math and science, and is a proud member of Phi Theta Kappa, serving as their secretary.

Additionally, she is a Bevill State ambassador and a tutor in the Student Support Services department.

Gracie shares her strategy for academic success: “I try to get my schoolwork done in the mornings so that it will be out of the way, and I can relax and still have time to be me.”

As she looks ahead to her graduation in May 2025, Gracie plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from a four-year university. She aspires to pursue a career in research or medicine.

Gracie is the daughter of Josh Slate, Kristal Painter, and Devon Painter.

Congratulations, Gracie, on your athletic and academic accomplishments. We wish you the best in your future endeavors! WL
