Several local organizations are celebrating America’s independence with fun and festivities. Here’s a look at some upcoming fourth of July events in Walker County. All events listed are open to the public, and free to attend unless otherwise noted.

Wednesday, July 3

  • Freedom Fest

When: 7 – 9 PM
Where: Sumiton Christian School | 155 Hosanna Drive, Sumiton, AL 35148

What to Expect: Food, music, inflatables, games, and fireworks!

Thursday, July 4

  • BBQ Lunch

When: 10 AM – 3 PM
Where: Bevill Café | 101 State Street, Sumiton, AL 35148

What to Expect: Enjoy your choice of meat with two sides, bread, a dessert, and a drink for $13 or all-you-can-eat for $19! Children’s meals include meat, two sides, bread, a drink, and an ice cream cone for $7! There are several choices for meat, sides, and desserts, as well as family meals available. For more information, call (205) 694-9391 or (205) 717-5270. The café will not be serving grill items.

  • 4th of July Celebration

When: 5 PM

Where: Oakman Town Square | Oakman, AL

What to Expect: Food vendors, music, games, and fireworks!

Saturday, July 6

  • Carbon Hill Fireworks Show

When: Dark
Where: Carbon Hill Splash Pad | Next to the Blue Gym, 1st Street NW

What to Expect: A free fireworks show!

Sunday, July 7

  • Independence Day Celebration

When: 7 PM
Where: Parrish Church of the Nazarene | 1432 New Parrish Highway, Parrish, AL 35580

What to Expect: Enjoy food, fun, and fireworks!
