Kick off your summer with a festival or pop-up shop, do some gaming, enjoy some tacos, and observe Memorial Day locally! Here is a list of everything you do not want to miss this week in Walker County. 

Multiple Dates

  • Taco Week

When: Monday, May 20 – Thursday, May 23

Where: Tallulah Brewing Company | 1804 4th Avenue South, Jasper, AL 35501

Join Tallulah’s for Taco Week! Enjoy three tacos and a side for just $6, tax included!

Saturday, May 25

  • Sunflower Summer

When: Noon – 3 PM

Where: 24 Bank Street, Parrish, AL 35580

Kick off your summer at the Reclamation Gardens, where you can enjoy free food, games, crafts, and activities for all ages! 

  • Honeysuckle Lane Pop-up Shop

When: 10 AM – 2 PM

Where: Vintage Trading Post | 734 Highway 78 West, Jasper, AL 35501

Join Honeysuckle Lane Shop for a pop-up outside of the Vintage Trading Post! Customize your own pen, keychain, or wristlet at the beaded bar! 

  • Chrome Mox CEDH Tournament 

When: 4 PM

Where: Gamer’s Guild | 577 Highway 78 West, Jasper, AL 35501

It’s another night of gaming! Come to Gamer’s Guild for some Magic: the Gathering; the game will be played in the CEDH format, and printed proxies are allowed. The entry fee is $10 per person. The first prize will be a Moradin Chrome Mox Card! 

  • Live Music by Tarnished Brass Band

When: 7 PM

Where: Tallulah Brewing Company | 1804 4th Avenue South, Jasper, AL 35501

Enjoy food, drinks, and live music by the Tarnished Brass Band! 

Monday, May 27 

  • Memorial Day Cookout

When: 11 AM – 2 PM

Where: Carbon Hill First Methodist Church | 158 NE 4th Avenue, Carbon Hill, AL 35549

Bring the whole family for this fun day of free food, drinks, games, water slides, and more! 

  • Memorial Day MURPH

When: 6 AM | 8 AM

Where: 805 5th Street West, Jasper, AL 35501

Join Viking Fitness for “MURPH,” an intense workout that consists of a 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, and 300 squats, then rounding out with another 1-mile run! Come for the first heat at 6 AM and the second at 8 AM.
