Meet Yancey Young, a talented senior at Sumiton Christian High School who excels not only on the baseball field but also in the classroom. As the Eagles’ center fielder, Yancey has showcased his skills under the guidance of Coach Ricky Bowen.
Off the field, Yancey enjoys unwinding with his teammates at Waffle House, where he indulges in his favorite meal—a waffle with a side of bacon and sausage.
Academically, Yancey is just as impressive, boasting a 3.8 GPA with a keen interest in Anatomy. As he approaches graduation later this month, he is looking forward to attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he aims to contribute to the baseball team as a student manager.
Yancey is the son of Daniel and Scarlett Young.
