The Memorial Park Natatorium will begin lifeguard courses on Friday, April 12, 2024.
Participants must be at least 15 years old and able to pass a skills test to qualify for the program. Those interested are encouraged to visit the natatorium beforehand to practice their skills.
City of Jasper Aquatics Director Stacy Smothers says, “I am looking forward to having new lifeguards take the courses for this season, as we also have quite a few returning from last summer. There will be a second lifeguard course offered in May that will be scheduled in the near future. I am hopeful that we will have enough lifeguards to open fully again this summer!”
Courses include classroom learning, water skills, CPR, and first aid. All applications must be submitted by Friday, April 5. To register or for more information, visit the natatorium or call 205-384-9617. WL
