Meet Maitland Baxter, a Jasper High School senior whose talents extend beyond the sports arena. Maitland has been making an impact as a doubles player in tennis for coach Christian Matthews and as a base in cheer for coach Amber Wright.

Maitland has also proven herself a remarkable student, upholding an outstanding 4.5 GPA. She is also a proud member of Key Club, Interact Club, National Honor Society, Beta Club, Spanish Club, and Yearbook. She serves as an officer in Key Club and Interact Club, is a school ambassador and student council member, is the yearbook editor, and is Ms. Jasper High School 2023-2024.

As she awaits her graduation in May 2024, Maitland plans to attend college to study pre-dentistry at Auburn University and then go to dental school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

“My inspiration for going into dentistry is Dr. Jill Gamotis. She has made me want to be in this field since I was nine,” Maitland says.

Maitland is the daughter of Allan and Kitten Baxter.

Congratulations, Maitland, on your athletic and academic accomplishments. We wish you the best in your future endeavors! WL
