Several local Alfa Insurance agents were recently honored with the Distinguished Service Award during the company’s annual awards ceremony in Montgomery. The ceremony, held January 25 at the Montgomery Performing Arts Centre, recognized the company’s best agents and managers for their dedicated service and commitment to policyholders.
The Distinguished Service Award is presented at three levels: bronze, silver, and gold. The following local agents represent the company’s full line of insurance for auto, home, life, and business.

- Rebecca Cordes – Gold
- Brian Goode – Gold
- Chad Hayes – Gold
- Luke Knighton – Gold
- Jennifer Owens – Gold
Hayes, who has served as an Alfa agent since 2019, says, “It’s a team award – staff, customers, claims adjusters, company leadership – it takes everybody. We’re grateful for our customers and our team, and we’re proud to serve Walker County.”
Appling, who is in her 26th year with Alfa, says, “It takes all of us working together to achieve the Distinguished Service award. I have two new agents in our office who earned the bronze award in their first year, which is basically unheard of. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to take care of our customers, and in return, they continue to support us.” WL
