Curry Elementary School’s Parent-Teacher Leadership Academy (PTLA) is hosting its debut Food Truck Festival & Math Night on January 11, 2024. Recognized for promoting teacher-parent collaboration and student success, Curry Elementary’s PTLA is building on last year’s kindness-focused achievements with a new emphasis on math.
The Food Truck Festival, featuring Stephen’s Hotdogs, Poe’s Family Food Truck, and Kona Ice, runs from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Simultaneously, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., Math Night, led by Curry Elementary PTLA’s Dacey West and Alex Fayet, offers parents a chance to learn activities to support their children’s math goals.
West explains, “We opened Math Night to the community through the Food Truck Festival to bring more people in. It’s about helping parents engage in activities that support their kids’ math learning.”
Fayet adds, “We want to show parents what PTLA is about, share activities for kids, and hopefully, set the stage for more events like this.” WL
