Meet Cooper Nichols, a senior at Oakman High School, whose talents extend beyond the sports arena. The son of Jennifer and Grant Nichols, Cooper is a tri-sport athlete who excels in fishing and archery under the guidance of his coach father. Additionally, he showcases his musical abilities by playing in the percussion section of Oakman’s band for director Casey Woods.
Beyond his athletic pursuits, Cooper has proven to be an outstanding student with a GPA of 3.68. Cooper is also an active member of various organizations, holding the position of president in Future Farmers of America and participating in Future Business Leaders of America, Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, Science Club, and the Student Government Association.

Looking ahead to his graduation in May 2024, Cooper has plans to attend Wallace State Community College, where he aims to study poultry science and become a poultry farmer. Reflecting on his choice, Cooper shares, “When I was little, I learned that many people have chicken farms and sell eggs. I’ve been raising chickens my whole life and have even competed with them. So, I figured that’s what I wanted to be.”
Congratulations, Cooper, on your achievements in both athletics and academics. We extend our best wishes for success in all your future endeavors! WL
