Words by Thomas Ingle | Images by Justin Hunter

Meet Ethan Barton, a Curry High School senior whose talents extend beyond the sports arena. A two-sport athlete, Ethan has been making waves as a pitcher and outfielder in baseball for coach Jonas Barnett, and a point guard in basketball for coach Quinton McCarty.

“I love playing in the centerfield because I can read the ball better as it is coming off the bat,” Ethan says.

Ethan has also proven himself to be a remarkable student, with a 3.6 GPA. When he’s not busy with his sports commitments, you might find him studying English, his favorite subject. He is also a proud member of the Future Farmers of America.

As he looks ahead to his graduation in May 2024, Ethan plans to attend Oakwood University where he will be playing baseball and studying to become an X-ray technician.

Ethan is the son of Ricky Barton and Alison Bates.

Congratulations, Ethan, on your athletic and academic accomplishments. We wish you the best in your future endeavors! WL
