State Senator Greg Reed (R-Jasper), President Pro Tempore of the Alabama Senate, released the following statement commending Cordova Elementary School for being designated a 2023 Exemplary High Performing National Blue Ribbon School.
“I want to congratulate Cordova Elementary on being named a Blue Ribbon School. It is a testament to the dedication and excellence of the teachers, faculty, staff, students, and families to achieve such an incredible distinction. Their efforts build the foundation for our children’s futures and help set a standard for academic excellence that will one day help them realize their potential and achieve their dreams. As a product of Cordova public schools, I could not be prouder of this achievement and recognition.”
The Secretary of Education sent a letter to Cordova Elementary in September announcing the designation as a Blue Ribbon School and commended the school’s efforts to “encourage and guide students as they embark on a journey of lifelong learning.” The letter included an invitation to attend the National Blue Ribbon Schools Award Ceremony in Washington, D.C., next week. The State of Alabama Department of Education passed a resolution recognizing Cordova Elementary’s designation as a Blue Ribbon School in Montgomery on November 9.
