Carbon Hill Senior Hayes Pate is a two-sport athlete who plays catcher and pitcher in baseball and is a member of the fishing team. He is coached by Blaine Eads in baseball and Tim Norris in fishing.
Hayes puts his all into both sports and academics. He holds a 3.8 GPA in the classroom and his favorite subject is math. In addition, Hayes is involved in the National Honor Society.
“I find motivation throughout my family,” Hayes said. “I get motivation from my girlfriend as well. She is good at pushing me to go the extra mile.”
After he graduates on May 26, 2023, Hayes plans to attend Faulkner University to attain his Physician’s Assistant Certification. He also has dreams of becoming a professional bass fisherman.
Hayes is the son of Shane and Rhonda Pate.
