On Saturday, April 15th, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Jasper Herb Society will host their 12th annual Herb Day fundraiser at The Plantique. This event aims to educate people about the many benefits of growing and using herbs, while raising money for the Herb Society.

This year marks the second time the fundraiser will take place at The Plantique, and guests can expect similar engaging events for the whole family as last year. In 2022, guests enjoyed herbal refreshments, tips and tricks for growing herbs, arts and crafts, and a potting class for children.

“We love hosting Herb Day here at the Plantique!” says owner Nevada Frye. “Our customers enjoy meeting with the members of the Herb Society and learning recipes and remedies from them, and they’re just the nicest, sweetest group of people.”

In addition to the fun activities, The Plantique is also helping with fundraising by giving a portion of all herb sales on the day of the event to the Herb Society. This means that attendees can support a good cause while adding new herbs to their gardens.

“Every year, more and more people are interested in coming out to learn about herbs, and we’re really excited to see everyone this year,” says Nora Estill, founder of the Jasper Herb Society. “We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the refreshments and activities, and to learn more about the benefits of herbs.” WL

The Plantique by Professional Landscaping Inc. is located at 2223 N Airport Rd in Jasper. Spring business hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Learn more by visiting The Plantique on Facebook.

The Jasper Herb Society meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Jasper along 4th Avenue.
