The Pregnancy Test and Resource Center (PTRC), a nonprofit, pro-life, nondenominational ministry that ministers to women and men who are facing an unplanned pregnancy, will be hosting its annual fundraising gala on Friday, March 10 at 6 p.m. at the Jasper Civic Center. Entitled “Celebrating the Gift of Life,” the event is the organization’s biggest fundraising event for the year, with an expected attendance of over 400.
“(The event) will help raise funds for our general operational budget, as well as a new-to-us facility that we hope to purchase and move to later this year,” says PTRC Executive Director Jenny Odom. “We hope to be able to share more about our new location at the event.”
Guest speaker for the event will be David Scotton, an attorney who was the subject of the award-winning adoption documentary I Lived on Parker Avenue as well as the movie Lifemark.
Sponsor tables include a catered meal from Black Rock and 8 tickets.
The services offered by the PTRC include pregnancy testing, ultrasound, an online and in-person parenting program that provides baby items for expecting mothers and fathers, a clothes closet that provides help with maternity clothing and baby items from sizes newborn-2T, and Baby Boot Camps that provide education and baby items to expecting parents.
The PTRC is located at 1707 2nd Avenue in Jasper. For more information on the gala or for services offered at the PTRC, please contact (205) 221-5860. WL
