An evening of heartfelt melodies and captivating stories unfolded on Saturday, June 3 at The Bull Pen Steakhouse in Oakman as local musicians gathered for a good cause.
An Evening of Songs, Singers, and Stories aimed to support the mission of the Walker County Children’s Advocacy Center (WCCAC).
Since their founding in 2013, WCCAC has been an invaluable resource in the community, providing critical services to children who have experienced abuse and trauma. The organization has performed more than 1400 forensic interviews over the last decade. WCCAC’s commitment to empowering and protecting young lives has garnered immense support from the local community.
“We’re always very appreciative when the community gets involved in support of our work and enables us to continue serving the children of our community,” said Rachel Karr, Community Educator at WCCAC.
To help further WCCAC’s vital work, a group of talented local musicians lent their voices and instruments to the cause. Skip Cochran, Barry Evans, Rick Boles, Jeff Parnell, and Kris Nelson took the stage, blending their unique musical styles to create an enjoyable performance.
The event showcased the power of music to bring people together and shed light on important causes. It served as a reminder that collective efforts can make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most. WL
