From fireworks to family fun, local groups are gearing up to celebrate the Fourth of July in a big way.
Here’s a roundup of Independence Day events happening in and around Walker County this week. All listed events are open to the public and free to attend unless otherwise noted.

Sumiton Church of God Freedom Fest

What to Expect: Free hotdogs, food vendors, games, inflatables, music, fireworks

Argo First Baptist Church Independence Day Celebration

What to Expect: Waterslide, inflatables, train rides, hotdogs, horseshoes, fireworks at dark.
Friday, July 4
Carbon Hill Independence Day Celebration
When: 6 PM
Where: The Carbon Hill Splashpad
What to Expect: A live DJ, snow cones, fireworks.
Oakman Fourth of July Celebration
When: 5 PM
Where: Oakman Town Square
What to Expect: Food, fun, and fireworks.
Addison Fourth of July Celebration
What to Expect: Parade, music festival, and fireworks display.
