Jasper College and Career Group Creates a Community for Young Adults

The Jasper College and Career Group is a new ministry for young adults, created by Hope Reeves and Anna Kate Webster, two friends who saw a need for something more in their community.

After high school, both women realized there weren’t many options for people in their age group who were seeking deep, faith-based connections.

“We kept circling back to the idea that there’s got to be more people that feel like this—confused, wondering what’s next, longing for close community and meaningful friendships,” Hope says.

This realization sparked the idea to create a space for adults aged 18-25 who may have aged out of youth groups but aren’t quite settled into adult life.

“It’s a critical period where people start dissecting their faith and reviewing why they believe what they believe,” explained Chad Hayes, one of the group’s speakers. “The group offers an opportunity for attendees to strengthen their faith while forming genuine friendships.”

One key aspect of the group is its inclusivity. Attendees don’t need to be affiliated with any one church to join. “It’s a group for Christians across the board within that 18-25 age range,” Chad emphasizes.

“The goal is to create a welcoming environment for anyone seeking community, no matter their church background. Everyone is invited to attend, whether you’re single, dating, or married,” says Anna Kate.

The group meets every Thursday at Glory Fellowship Baptist Church, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

With worship, prayer, and messages rooted in scripture, the goal is to help attendees connect with each other and deepen their relationship with Christ. Chad speaks twice a month, and Glory Fellowship Student Pastor Philip Williams speaks once a month. The fourth Thursday is open to additional guest speakers and a mix of different activities like mission projects or game nights.

“Our hope and prayer is that this group builds a community of young adults who encourage each other and form friendships that last far beyond these walls,” Hope says. WL

Glory Fellowship Baptist Church is located at 175 Cordova Cut Off Rd, Jasper, AL 35501.
