The Equine Assisting Special Individuals (EASI) Trail Ride will be held from September 20 to 22, 2024, at Faye Whittemore Farms in Jasper, Alabama.

This event is open to riders of all ages and skill levels, with weekend and day ride options available.

Participants are encouraged to join the fun by wearing grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts to embrace the event’s theme.

The weekend ride fee is $40 per rider, which includes access to trail rides on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, entertainment on Saturday night, and dinner on Saturday.

For those who prefer to participate for a single day, the day ride fee is $20, which also includes dinner and entertainment on Saturday evening. Children under six can ride for free with a paid adult.

All participating horses must have a negative Coggins test. To make stall and campsite reservations, contact Nick Whittemore at (205) 300-7141.

EASI, a program of Northwest Alabama Mental Health Center, provides equine-assisted activities for individuals with special needs. The trail ride is both a fun event and a fundraiser to support the program’s efforts.

For more information, participants can follow EASI on Facebook or contact the event organizers by phone at 205-387-7486. WL
