Jojo Odom is making his senior year count both on and off the field.
As a key player on Jasper High School’s football defensive line, he has already recorded four sacks and 11 tackles this season.
One of his most exciting moments came during the Vikings’ last game against Sipsey Valley when he snagged an interception and took it 25 yards for a touchdown.
“I was rushing the passer, and the ball came toward me. I grabbed it and took it to the house. It felt really good,” Jojo recalls.
A football player since age six, Jojo credits his mom for encouraging him to get involved in the sport, which quickly became a passion.
He also enjoys basketball and plays as a center on the Vikings’ varsity team for coach Heath Burns.
Jojo’s athletic future looks bright, with several college offers on the table. He plans to study business in college, although he’s still exploring his options for a specific focus.
Outside of sports, Jojo is dedicated to his family, faith, and academics.
“I love God, I love my family, and I take school very seriously,” he says.
Congratulations, Jojo, on your accomplishments on the field and in the classroom! The Walker Leader wishes you the best in your future endeavors. WL
