Camp McDowell is Hiring a Year-Round Kitchen Assistant


The Kitchen Assistant aids in the day-to-day operations associated with food preparation and clean-up in one of three Camp McDowell kitchens. The Kitchen Assistant is scheduled by the Food Service Director and typically maintains a five-day work week, sometimes including split shifts. The pay is based on experience. The applicant needs to be available for all shifts.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with food preparation, cooking, and meal service
  • Clean all dishes and utensils after every meal
  • Remove garbage and recycling from kitchen and dining hall after each meal
  • Launder all kitchen linens
  • Organizing and correctly storing food supplies
  • Keep dining hall floors, tables, and food service stations clean
  • Help train and develop any new kitchen employees by providing a positive and enthusiastic environment for kitchen personnel, motivating them to give their best performance for success
  • Help out wherever and whenever needed
  • Follow instructions of the Kitchen Manager, or Assistant Manager when the manager is absent
