The Kitchen Assistant aids in the day-to-day operations associated with food preparation and clean-up in one of three Camp McDowell kitchens. The Kitchen Assistant is scheduled by the Food Service Director and typically maintains a five-day work week, sometimes including split shifts. The pay is based on experience. The applicant needs to be available for all shifts.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with food preparation, cooking, and meal service
- Clean all dishes and utensils after every meal
- Remove garbage and recycling from kitchen and dining hall after each meal
- Launder all kitchen linens
- Organizing and correctly storing food supplies
- Keep dining hall floors, tables, and food service stations clean
- Help train and develop any new kitchen employees by providing a positive and enthusiastic environment for kitchen personnel, motivating them to give their best performance for success
- Help out wherever and whenever needed
- Follow instructions of the Kitchen Manager, or Assistant Manager when the manager is absent
