The Sumiton Main Street Committee has exciting plans for the community this summer with the the 2024 First Friday series. These events will feature “Movies on Main Street,” along with vendors, food trucks, and more.
“We started these movie nights last summer, but this year we’re doing it bigger,” says committee member Amelia Hardin. “We do this for all of the community, but specifically for the kids who don’t get summer vacations, so they have an opportunity for good, clean fun and something to look forward to.”
First Friday events are scheduled for June 7, July 5, and August 2, beginning at 5 PM each night. The movie lineup includes Toy Story on June 7, Lilo and Stitch on July 5, and The Little Mermaid on August 2. Additional movie nights will be held throughout the summer, with dates and titles to be announced later, though these will not include vendors.
Vendor applications are currently being accepted and can be picked up at Revival on Main (2371 Hwy 78 E, Sumiton, AL 35148) or Amelia’s Bows (1294 Main St, Sumiton, AL 35148). Food truck vendors interested in participating should email Alexis Holder at arholder@gmail.com.
