On Monday, May 6, Jasper Main Street welcomed Main Street directors from across the United States. This visit was a part of the ongoing 2024 Main Street Now Convention, centered this year in Birmingham, Alabama.
Main Street Now, the largest national conference of its kind, focuses on fostering preservation-based economic opportunities in downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts. The event is a crucial platform for local leaders to network, exchange ideas, and learn innovative strategies to bolster the social, civic, and economic fabric of their communities.
During Monday’s visit, the visiting directors enjoyed a tour of Jasper, exploring its rich history and current initiatives aimed at enhancing the city’s vibrancy. The tour, including a ride on Trolley on Main, sponsored by Young Jewelers, also offered insights into Jasper’s efforts to flourish as a thriving community in which to live, work, and play.
“We are thrilled to welcome our fellow Main Street affiliates and share with them the things we’re so proud to have accomplished here in Jasper,” said Renae Wilson, Jasper Main Street Marketing and Events Director. “It’s a beautiful time of year to be in Jasper, and it’s always a great time to learn about Jasper’s history and talk about the continued growth.” WL
