Watch some tree lightings, see some parades, attend a paint party, audition for a musical – there are opportunities to accomplish each of these things this week in Walker County!

- Bevill State Community College Music Department presents their 30th Annual Christmas Concert
Join the BSCC Music Department for a Christmas Concert featuring several Christmas classics and choral works by the Jazz Band and Concert Choir!

- A Viking Band Paint Party
Join the Viking Band, in collaboration with Art & Soul Studio, for a Christmas-themed paint party benefitting the band. The cost is $45 per person, and it can be pre-paid at this link or through a band member.

Friday, December 1st
- Hope for Women’s Festival of Lights
Bring your friends and family to celebrate the annual tree lighting on courthouse square and meet Santa Claus!
When: 5 PM event start; 5:30 p.m. tree lighting
Where: Courthouse Square in downtown Jasper.
- The Willow Project presents Once Upon a Christmas
Join The Willow Project’s fall semester students for their performances of iconic skits, monologues, and musical numbers from classic Christmas films! Tickets can be purchased at The Willow Project’s Downtown location (400 19th Street East, Jasper, AL 35501) or at the door of the event, should available seats remain. The cost is $10 per adult and $5 per child.

- Cordova’s Christmas Tree Lighting
Come join the fun in Downtown Cordova on Friday night for the Christmas tree lighting, hot cocoa, and caroling around town!

- 1st Annual Sumiton Christmas Parade
Come for the parade and stay afterward for the tree lighting and meeting Santa at Revival on Main!
When: 5:30 PM
Where: Begins at Sumiton Square, and will head downtown onto State Street
- Annie Jr. Auditions
All students aged 7-18 are invited to auditions for a junior production of the classic Broadway musical, Annie. Auditioners should bring a resume, headshot/photo, and have a prepared song (approximately 45 seconds; preferably something from the show). - Eldridge Toy Run Annual Benefit Ride
Calling all motorcyclists in Tuscaloosa, Pickens, Walker, and the surrounding counties! Join the Eldridge Toy Run Annual Benefit Ride to benefit the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home in Eldridge, Alabama. The ride will begin at the Northport Civic Center and end at the children’s home (86 Academy Drive, Eldridge, AL 35554). Onlookers are welcome to be at the children’s home by 11 a.m. to see the band of motorcyclists make their arrival!

- 3rd Annual Christmas at the Hills
Come to Christmas at the Hills for good food, a variety of vendors, and live entertainment!

- Cordova Christmas Parade
When: 6 PM
Where: Downtown Cordova – Parade Begins at Cordova High School | 183 School Road, Cordova, AL 35550
- Nauvoo Christmas Parade
Anyone looking to register a float must call ahead at (205) 435-3239; Fire trucks, churches, school programs/bands, classic cars, tractors, ATVs, horses, etc. are all welcome. There will be an award for Best Decorated Float!
