The Chamber of Commerce of Walker County held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday morning to celebrate the opening of the Daily Mountain Eagle‘s new offices.
The DME’s move to their new office is a significant milestone for the newspaper and is a symbol of growth and progress for the newspaper and the community it serves.
After occupying the previous location at 1301 Viking Dr. for over 40 years, the Daily Mountain Eagle announced its relocation to 100 Highway 78 W. in Jasper last month. The new office, situated adjacent to Bedzzz Express, is better suited to the current operations of the newspaper, and the new location is expected to improve accessibility for readers and advertisers, making it easier for them to interact with the newspaper staff.
Visitors were offered the opportunity to tour the new headquarters of the newspaper and celebrate the newspaper’s commitment to providing reliable news and information Walker County.
“It was really important for us to get here and have a fresh start. This nice new building will allow us to keep serving the community and make sure we’re reporting the truth, whether it’s good or bad,” said Daily Mountain Eagle General Manager Michael Keeton.
“We’ve been looking at moving for some time, and this is a very nice facility that gives us a chance to be well-seen on Highway 78,” Journalist Ed Howell added. “We’re very pleased at how it has turned out, and I believe this move positions us to be around for quite a long time.” WL
